Now Using Squarespace!

I've been a web developer for many years and used to always swear by building websites from scratch. Buy shared hosting or a VPS, install Apache/nginx, set up WordPress or some other CMS, customize themes, edit templates/CSS, install plugins, etc. It's an incredibly tiring endeavor with no major payoff.

In the last year or so I've moved to Squarespace because it's about the same cost, easy to use, and lets me focus on content instead of administration (which I've always hated but was good at). If I want anything more complicated than a landing page, a few pages of text/images, a blog, or an ecommerce store, I will build it from scratch. Right now I don't need anything more.

As I've tried many times before, I'm going to try to keep up a regular blog. Part of using Squarespace is to eliminate as many barriers to me posting content I care about.

Let's see how this goes!
